Government College Bagicha updated as Government Sant Rameshwar Gahira Guru Ji College, Bagicha,Dist-Jashpur Chhattisgarh was established in the year 2007 is affiliated to “SANT GAHIRA GURU VISHWAVIDYALAYA, SARGUJA, AMBIKAPUR, CHHATTISGARH “is an institute of higher education in Northern Chhattisgarh of India. It offers undergraduate courses in Commerce, Arts and Science. The Tribal area in Bagicha in the northern Chhattisgarh, the demand of quality education, especially in the field of Higher education, increased in the mid sixties. There were a few colleges and large number of economically backward young and girls willing to undertake higher education. In this backdrop a few thought of opening a college. Initially started in a school Building in the year session 2007-08,after a few year later it has been shifted to its present campus in the year 2011. Since then, it has been making strides in terms of academic and infrastructural up-gradation which has enabled it to emerge as a fore-runner in Education in the rural and economical backward tribal populated region.

HISTORY ABOUT SANT GAHIRA GURU JI
The college is named after thefamous Guru, Guru of the forest dwellers, Sant Rameshwar Gahira Guru. SantGahira Guru ji was born on Shravan Amavasya in 1905 in a village called Gahirain Lailunga area of Raigarh district, Chhattisgarh. Being full of Puranas andspiritual knowledge, he became famous and made Tapobhoomi on the constructionof Kailash cave in the forest of Samarbar area and gave the teachings ofSanatan Dharma and culture to the poor backward forest dwellers of this area,the distance of Kailash cave from the Bagicha headquarters is only 28 kilometres.
